Air mail letter Helsinki -> New York 14.2.1949. Letter rate <20g (1.12.1948-31.10.1949) 15 marks. Air mail surcharge 12 marks / 5g (15.1.1947-31.10.1949). Correct rate 27 marks. No arrival stamping.

Air mail letter Helsinki -> New York 16.5.1946. Letter rate <20g (1.9.1945-31.12.1946) 10 marks. Air mail surcharge 22 marks / 5g. Correct rate 32 marks. No arrival stamping.

Air mail letter Helsinki -> New York 17.6.1948. Letter rate <20g (1.1.1947-30.6.1948) 12 marks. Air mail surcharge 12 marks/5g (15.1.1947-31.10.1949). Correct rate 24 marks. No arrival stamping. The 8 mark stamps used were intended to be used domestically but in this combination work well to achieve the required 24 marks.

Expedited air mail letter Helsinki -> New York 9.8.1946. Letter rate <20g (1.9.1945-31.12.1946) 10 marks. Air mail surcharge 22 marks/5g. Expedited delivery in the United States 10 marks. 5 marks overpaid probably because expedited delivery in Finland was 15 marks and perhaps either sender or the clerk did not know that the expedited delivery rate was not the same in both countries. Arrival stamping in New York 13.8.1946 so 5 days' journey although the recipient was not reached.
