1940's Air Mail from Finland to France

An air mail postcard from Helsinki, FInland to Le Chambon-sur-Lignon in Haute-Loire department of France cancelled in 19.7.1948. Le Chambon-sur-Lignon is a rather small town. It had less than one thousand permanent residents in the 1940's and was a massively popular tourist destination for French nationals. The postcard depicts the National Museum of Finland that was opened in 1916 and is open today (2025) in it's original intended use as a museum.

The postcard rate to France was nine marks between 1.7.1948 and 30.10.1949. Air mail surcharge was three marks between 24.10.1945 and 30.9.1957. The singly used 12 marks definitive stamp thus fulfills the correct rate. The stamp was issued in 10.2.1947. It's intended use was for letters to abroad. However, during the 1948 it had a myriad of other uses as a single use stamp - such as this one here.
