WarZone
I have a rather large collection of the old WarZone miniatures (large, as in, probably exceeding 1000 miniatures) as it was a favourite miniature game for many years after being disappointed in constant upheaveling edition changes that happened in the Warhammer 40K world (now it's 2025 and not much have changed in that department!). And namely my best memories and games of WarZone were done with the imperfect and flawed 1st edition of the game. The second edition of the rules corrected many flaws of the 1st edition but lost many of it's unique touches and while I enjoyed it somewhat it wasn't as hilarious as the original game.
The later 3rd edition (or Ultimate WarZone) published in 1998 by Excelsior Entertainment was much better in many ways. However, it was too late to save the game as the publisher was way too small to support such a large game especially because they had to create new models for the game. All the old moulds of the earlier miniatures were demolished earlier when the original publisher's parent company went into solvency and bankrupted. I personally enjoyed the third edition. Two other editions have since then tried to resurrect the game but to no avail. I did play a few games of the Prodos' WarZone Resurrection edition but the original game's quirkiness was all ironed out and every faction seemed to essentially play the same. Never tried the game's newest incarnation.
The original 1st edition miniatures were crude and comic in many ways but they supported the impossible world of Mutant Chronicles well enough. All the original moulds were destroyed in the business turmoil that eventually led to the destruction of the 2nd edition in the late 1990's although Prince August did buy a huge stock of already manufactured miniatures and sold them on their web shop for years; couple of decades even.
Angel of Mercy
This miniature was originally released contained within a boxed set of cardboard terrain called Brotherhood Cathedral. Along with this Angel of Mercy miniature the box also contained a Brotherhood miniature named The Visionary. This miniature comes from that boxed set, but later on both miniatures were released as independent blister packs available separately from the box set. Lost in time and space are the odd tubes that were supposed to be fitted on the back of this miniature. However I personally think this miniature looks far better without them being attached which is also the primary reason I've never bothered to attach them in the first place. Especially since the addon tubes were just glued onto the miniature and have no visible connection points from which it would be apparent to notice that something is missing. Painted around the time the box set originally became available in 1998. This guy belongs to the Muawijhe faction of the Dark Legion.
Doomsday Proclaimer
Doomsday Proclaimer belongs to the Muawijhe faction. I have no recollection as to when I painted this but it might have been somewhere around the turn of the millennium.
Gomorrian Emasculator
Here's a miniature painted for a friend years ago. The metal parts were done with Miniature Paints' metallic paint and I gave up using metallics shortly after I painted this. I joined the NMM rage but now (2025) have again all but reverted back to metallics as there has been incredible leaps in metallic paints technology. This Target Games figure has a damn nice sculpt, very characterful and unique look. This dude fought for the Algeroth forces of the Dark Legion faction.
